Tour of The Clark on 54th (Los Angeles)

Tour of The Clark on 54th (Los Angeles)

Join the Housing Action Coalition for an on-site tour of The Clark on 54th, a community-based housing project being developed by Praxis Development Group in partnership with the family that has owned the land since the 1990s.

Led by Praxis Development Group, the project is a joint venture between Praxis and the brother-and-sister owners of the land. The project pays tribute to their mother, who operated a hair salon on this site for decades. The Clark on 54th is woman-owned, Black-owned, and locally owned, rooted deeply in neighborhood history and stewardship.

The site is located within and adjacent to some of Los Angeles’s most historically significant Black communities, including Leimert Park and View Park/Windsor Hills. Today, the surrounding area is dominated by high-value single-family homes, making this project a thoughtful, community-rooted addition that expands access to family-sized homes and long-term affordability while remaining grounded in the neighborhood’s cultural legacy.

The project will deliver 48 family-sized homes, with 20% of the building affordable at 50% AMI, adding much-needed housing in a high-opportunity area with strong transit access and longstanding community assets.

Post-Tour: Afterwards, we'll walk over to Dulan’s on Crenshaw for a complimentary lunch. Hope to see you there!
