Join us to dive into the unique development of 1028 Market Street from a 360 degree perspective of the public process with representatives from the developer, the community, and the city. 1028 Market Street is a recently entitled mixed-use residential and retail project located in San Francisco’s Mid-Market neighborhood. This property is known for its creative use of the vacant building during the entitlement process, as it transformed into the beloved, yet temporary, “The Hall“. Tidewater Capital, the building’s developers, transformed the street level space into a food hall that provided storefront space to local vendors, activated the streetscape, and served as a gathering place for the community to discuss what they wanted to see in the new development. This morning program will be held at The Hall, which will be closing later this Fall. Come join us to learn about this unique (and successful) approach to community engagement in San Francisco.
This program is part of ULI SF’s Housing the Bay, a member-driven initiative to tackle some of the root causes of our housing shortage and deliver innovative solutions in the realms of financing, construction costs, policy, and the public process. The 360 Panel is a lead-up for the Housing Summit in October, a one-day program where we will share what we have learned and our proposals for action to take forward.
