SFHAC and BayHAC Welcome New Communications Director

SFHAC and partner organization BayHAC are excited to welcome Deborah Schneider as both organizations’ new Communications Director. Deborah previously served as External Relations Director for Bay Area-based nonprofit Lava Mae and brings years of experience as a communications strategist to nonprofit and for-profit social innovators. Her clients have included nonprofits such as Compass Family Services and Outward Bound California, tech-for-good startups backed by Y Combinator and Kapor Capital, political initiatives such as Tech for Obama, and many others.

“I’m delighted to join SFHAC and BayHAC and help propel the team’s efforts to tackle the Bay Area’s housing crisis by advocating for building more housing at all levels of affordability,” Deborah remarked. “I’ve long admired the HAC’s talent and tenacity, and I’m excited to collaborate with my colleagues on advancing solutions to our region’s longstanding housing affordability problems.”

“Our team and Board have enthusiastically welcomed Deborah and the experience she brings to HAC’s communications,” said SFHAC and BayHAC’s Executive Director Todd David. “Even in a challenging year like 2020 we’ve made great progress as an organization and we’re glad to have Deborah on board to help amplify our efforts as we move forward in 2021 and beyond.”
