November 10, 2014 Housing Action Coalition
The SF Housing Action Coalition is excited to introduce our first-ever Community Organizer, Catherine Young.
A recent transfer from Melbourne, Australia, Catherine brings strength in strategic partnership building with a passion for neighborhood livability. In Melbourne, she worked for her local municipal government where she focused on creating communities that give people access to healthy food and encourage them to be physically active. Catherine holds Bachelor’s degrees in Public Health and Health Promotion as well as Commerce.
Since arriving to San Francisco, Catherine’s pursued one of her passions – biking. She’s currently a project team member on the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition’s BIKES ONboard project and sits on the Bicycle Advisory Committee for Caltrain. When she’s not solving the City’s housing and transportation issues, Catherine enjoys hiking, mountain biking and wool spinning.
As our Community Organizer, Catherine will use her communication skills to extend our reach into the neighborhoods, activating community members to speak up for building more housing at all levels of affordability.
The past year has been an exciting one for SFHAC. Now with a bigger team, larger membership and a lot of momentum, we have the tools to mobilize individuals and advocate for more housing solutions for all San Franciscans.
