April 22, 2021 Housing Action Coalition

Home & Environment presented by WoodWorks

All of us at HAC were excited to mark Earth Day with our Home & Environment conversation and thankful to WoodWorks for making today’s program possible!

Our expert panel featured WoodWorks’ Chelsea Drenick, DCI Engineers’ Robin Landis, and David Baker Architects’ Katie Ackerly discussing the ways building designers and owners are prioritizing sustainability to reduce the climate impacts of the built environment.

With buildings generating nearly 40% of annual global greenhouse gas emissions, reducing both the embodied carbon of building materials and operational carbon are key to reducing the emissions of our homes and Chelsea, Robin, and Katie demonstrated why there’s reason to be inspired and optimistic about the latest innovations in sustainable building. Tune in and learn why!

The Housing Action Coalition’s Home & … series is designed to raise public awareness around the interconnection of housing and other critical issues such as health, transportation, the environment, and more. To learn more about the series and event sponsorship, please contact Kaylé Barnes (kayle at sfhac dot org).
