The Housing Hero Awards recognize individuals who make exceptional contributions to creating more housing opportunities for San Franciscans. This year, we will honor two remarkable ladies:

Supervisor Katy Tang

District 4 Supervisor Tang has been a consistent voice for smart housing solutions, especially on the City’s the west side. During her time in office, she developed the Sunset District Blueprint and is a key sponsor of the Affordable Housing Bonus Program, San Francisco’s first attempt to enact a local density bonus law and create a middle-income housing program.

Kim-Mai Cutler

She burst onto the housing scene in 2014 with the publication of, “How Burrowing Owls Lead to Vomiting Anarchists (Or SF’s Housing Crisis Explained).” Her terrific journalism has explored the intersection of the tech sector and public policy, reaching new audiences and igniting a resurgence in local housing advocacy.
