Exploring Mission Bay: Past, Present & Future

Join the SF Housing Action Coalition and Walk SF on a weekend walking tour through Mission Bay, where we will meet and hear from local residents and builders on the past, present and future of this emerging and rapidly changing neighborhood.

A 2-mile flat and easy walk will offer an overview of what’s happening in Mission Bay. Along the walk, you’ll hear a history of the houseboat community on Mission Creek, see newly completed 100% affordable and market-rate housing as well as explore the voter approved 28 acre Mission Rock Development. Walk leaders include Mission Bay residents, architects, developers, planners and landscape architects – all of whom have been integral in shaping this neighborhood. The walk will conclude at The Yard at Mission Rock, the pop-up shipping container village, where participants can grab optional food and drink.

Learn about the development of a new vibrant neighborhood through urban planning and community involvement.
