Rob Bonta | CA Attorney General
Since taking office in April 2021, Attorney General Bonta has demonstrated his commitment to solving California’s housing crisis by working tirelessly to enforce state housing laws and ensure that cities throughout California are doing their part to build more homes.
AB 2011 Coalition | CA Assemblymember Buffy Wicks, California Housing Consortium, Northern California Council of Carpenters, Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters
Led by Asm Buffy Wicks, AB 2011, the Affordable Housing and High Road Jobs Act, streamlines affordable and mixed-income housing production in commercial areas in California, potentially creating millions of new homes and making homeownership more attainable for working families.
Student Housing Advocates | Michelle Andrews (UC Davis)
Michelle Andrews is a student at the University of California, Davis, majoring in Environmental Science and Management and minoring in Human Rights and Political Science. This past year, Michelle spearheaded SB 886 alongside Zennon Ulyate-Crow and Laz Meiman — a bill that will streamline the construction of student housing across the state. On a local level, Michelle is an active voice for students on Davis housing issues, frequently making public comments in support of new housing developments and campaigning for pro-growth measures.
Student Housing Advocates | Zennon Ulyate-Crow (UC Santa Cruz) and Laz Meiman (UC Santa Cruz)
Zennon and Laz are students at the University of California, Santa Cruz and founders of the Student Housing Coalition: an organization committed to advocating for solutions to the ongoing housing crisis in Santa Cruz. Through their advocacy work Zennon and Laz have demonstrated leadership and a passionate desire to help build a more sustainable, equitable, and accessible Santa Cruz region for both students and residents.
