2014 Spring Housing Forum
April 30, 2014 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm PDT
Thanks to all who attended our 8th Annual Housing Forum. Photos from the evening can be found here. Full recap on our blog including Professor Edward Glaeser’s presentation can be found here.
On April 30, the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition (SFHAC) will tackle the tough subject of middle-income housing. San Francisco has done a good job of producing market-rate housing and is better than most cities at producing low-income, subsidized housing. But what about those in the middle? We are referring to residents who don’t make enough money to afford the new market-rate units, but make too much to qualify for subsidized housing. How do we build for this group? These questions will be answered at our 8th Annual Housing Forum, Missing the Middle: Why San Francisco Needs to Get Serious About Middle-Income Housing.Â
We have an all-star panel to provide their expertise on the topic:
Alexa Arena | Vice President of Development at Forest City
Malcolm Yeung | Deputy Director of Chinatown Community Development Center
Paul Zeger | Principal at Polaris Pacific
Kicking off the Forum:
A video address from Edward Glaeser |Â Harvard Economics Professor and author of “Triumph of the City”
Panel Moderator:
Tim Colen | Executive Director of the SF Housing Action Coalition
