Assembly Bill 1903 (Wicks)
What the bill does:
AB 1903 restores the original intent of the law by strengthening the right to repair, improving transparency in claims, and ensuring disputes are resolved efficiently. This legislation restores balance to the construction defect process by: Strengthening the Right to Repair, ensuring claims involve actual damage, encouraging repairs instead of litigation and increasing transparency in HOA litigation.
Why this bill matters:
Californians desperately need more housing options, including homeownership options at all income levels. In order to get these homes built, removing barriers like the current litigation incentives is key. By prioritizing residents getting repairs and reducing unnecessary litigation, residents and builders can both win.
