The SFHAC is seeking to hire a research intern for gathering historical data on housing and SFHAC milestones in San Francisco from 1999 to present. The data will be used at our 15th birthday party on October 1st.

The SF Housing Action Coalition (SFHAC) advocates for well-designed, well-located housing for ALL levels of affordability in San Francisco. We are a small but mighty non-profit, with 3-full time staff and 130+ members, all working to achieve a 9-point Housing Action Plan to increase the supply of housing so that all people who want to live here can. We ask the question, “Who gets to live in San Francisco?” and our answer is always “Everyone who wants to.”
This internship is perfect for a college student home for the summer or an eager high school student looking to boost your college resume. We offer a flexible schedule with a 6 hour per week minimum commitment for 3 months from July – Oct 1. We are happy to work with any academic requirements you may have, to help you earn college credit for your efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
– In-office research (paper and electronic files)
– Internet research for statistics, news articles and photographs
– Compiling data using google docs for statistics and infographics
Required Skills
– Works well independently
– Passion for making San Francisco a better place to live
– Interest in San Francisco politics as well as urban planning issues
– Good organizational skills
– Competent writer and communicator
– Must be able to work in the SFHAC office between 10am – 6pm Monday – Friday at least 3-hours a week.
Desired additional skills
– Graphics design (Adobe Creative Suite)
