The San Francisco Housing Action Coalition (SFHAC) believes the Balboa Reservoir site, currently occupied by a 17-acre parking lot, has the potential to provide a lot of badly-needed market-rate and subsidized housing. Given its proximity to a regional transit node and San Francisco’s dire need for more housing at all levels of affordability, this is an opportunity not to be missed! The City is currently working on a Request for Proposals (RFP) under the leadership of the Mayor’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development and Balboa Reservoir Community Advisory Committee. The RFP will provide key parameters for the development of the site. The attached letter contains SFHAC’s suggestions for the RFP.
