Public Presentation of Balboa Reservoir Proposals

June 10, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm PDT

Balboa Reservoir is a city-owned property adjacent to the Balboa BART Station and City College under the jurisdiction of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. The western portion of the site is 17 acres and occupied by 1,000 surface parking space. The City is in the process of selling the site to a team of market-rate and affordable housing developers to construct a mixed-use project. The finalists that have been selected will make their formal presentations for the site the public at this meeting: They include:

  1. AvalonBay Communities and BRIDGE Housing with Mission Housing Development Corporation, Pacific Union Development Company and Habitat for Humanity of Greater San Francisco
  2. Emerald Fund and Mercy Housing
  3. Related Companies with Sares Regis Group of Northern California, Curtis Development, and Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation

The development parameters for the Balboa Reservoir site were formed in collaboration with the Balboa Reservoir Citizens Advisory Committee and the City. SFHAC believes this site presents a tremendous opportunity to provide a significant number of homes, for all income levels, within walking distance of a major transit hub.
