Housing and Transit: Two Great Tastes That Taste Great, Together

December 14, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm PST

Transit-oriented development, concentrating city growth along public transportation corridors, has the promise of reducing traffic congestion by making transit more accessible and to create thriving, walkable communities. But can expanded and improved public transit be sustained without the new riders that come from housing development? How can both transit and housing be paired together to create a more sustainable San Francisco?
Join representatives from the SF YIMBY Party, SF Transit Riders, and BART in a panel discussion about how transit-oriented development (TOD) can help pave the way for a more transit-centered and equitable city and learn what’s coming down the line.
This event is co-hosted by the SF YIMBY Party and the SF Housing Action Coalition (SFHAC).
Speakers include:
Laura Clark, Executive Director, YIMBY Action
Rachel Hyden, Executive Director, SF Transit Riders Union
Kanishka Karunaratne, Legislative Aide to Supervisor Mark Farrell on Land Use and Transportation
Todd David, Executive Director, SF Housing Action Coalition
