Central SOMA Plan Community Meeting

December 6, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm PST

The vision of the Central SoMa Plan is for the creation of a sustainable neighborhood by 2040, in that the neighborhood meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The Central SoMa Plan seeks to achieve sustainability in each of its aspects – SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, and ENVIRONMENTAL. The Central SoMa Plan Area consists of the rectangle bounded by Market Street, Townsend Street, 2nd Street, and 6th Street.
This is the final meetings a three-part series of meetings to go over details of this plan. The focus of this meeting will be on creating an environmentally sustainable neighborhood, preserving and celebrating the neighborhood’s cultural heritage, and ensuring that new buildings enhance the character of the neighborhood and city (i.e., Goals 6-8 of the Plan).
Questions about the Plan can be director the Steve Wertheim with the SF Planning Department at steve.wertheim@sfgov.org.
