Regulatory Committee: Plan Bay Area and Gov. Brown’s As-of-Right Housing

June 10, 2016 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am PDT

Plan Bay Area 2040

There’s some policy work beyond San Francisco’s 49 square miles that demands our attention! At this week’s Regulatory Committee meeting, we’ll grapple with two key topics: Plan Bay Area 2040 and Governor Jerry Brown’s as-of-right-housing proposal.

– Matt Vander Sluis, Greenbelt Alliance’s Program Director, will share his understanding of the three proposed growth scenarios for Plan Bay Area 2040 and brief us on the June 14th meeting where public input will be heard. This is high-stakes regional planning.

– Matt Regan, Senior Vice President of Public Policy at the Bay Area Council, will explain the landscape facing Gov. Brown’s landmark housing proposals as well the status of AB2501, the streamlining of the state density bonus. These have enormous implications for California’s housing and land use policies.

All business and organization members of the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition are welcome to attend.
