About the CAC
The Balboa Reservoir (CAC) is tasked with advising on the development of the Balboa Reservoir. The members of the CAC, appointed by Mayor Lee and District 7 Norman Yee, advice City staff on the principles in a RFP to solicit a developer partner, which should be finalized in Spring 2016. The 17-acre site, located next to the Balboa BART Station, is currently a surface parking lot and part of the Public Lands for Housing program. The CAC meets on the second Monday of each month to gather input from the public on the future plans for the site.
As the city grapples with a housing crisis, the SFHAC is advocating for the maximum number of housing – at all levels of affordability – to be built on this parcel, contributing to the vibrancy of this neighborhood. We encourage all members of the community to attend these meetings to weigh in on what you envision at this transit-rich site.
Check the Planning Department website for more information or contact Phillip C. Wong of the Office of Economic and Workforce Development at BRCAC@sfgov.org or 415-554-6512.
